 To foster a love of music, our program gives all students the chance to explore music-making in a variety of ways. All students have the opportunity to participate in musical activities twice a week while learning music fundamentals and exploring music of many cultures and historical periods. Students utilize singing, world drumming, recorders, band instruments, Orff instruments (xylophone) electronic keyboards and computers.
All students participate and perform in a whole school concert three times a year for our annual Fine Arts Night and Grandparents’ Day programs. This is an opportunity for every child to shine, gain experience and show what is happening in the music classroom! |
Students who choose to take their musical experience to a more advanced level, can join the Warriors’ Pride Chorus (4th and 5th grades), The Spirit of IDS Chorus (3rd Grade), Middle School Musical Theatre (6th- 8th grades), Beginning and Advanced Bands (5th-8th grades). These enrichment opportunities give students even more experience where they can shine and reach their potential! |
